Bhopal, August 26: Hemant Khandelwal, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh, emphasized the growing empowerment of women across various sectors. He stated that it is essential to include women from all backgrounds to strengthen the party’s organization in the state.
Addressing a meeting of the women’s wing at the BJP state office, Khandelwal highlighted the legislation introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which mandates 33% reservation for women in both the national parliament and state assemblies. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh BJP government is providing 50% reservation for women in urban local bodies and three-tier panchayat elections. Additionally, women are receiving reservations in government jobs within the state.
Khandelwal referenced the government’s initiatives aimed at benefiting women, noting that under Modi’s leadership, significant transformations have occurred in health, infrastructure, electricity, housing, gas connections, digital transactions, sanitation, and more. Programs like Ayushman Bharat have provided substantial relief to impoverished families seeking medical treatment. Today, India stands among the leading nations in digital transactions, while Indore has gained recognition for its sanitation efforts.
Regarding the increasing influence of women, Khandelwal asserted that women are not objects of pity; instead, they must advance with dignity, restraint, and capability. Their roles have expanded significantly across all sectors, from administration to politics and business.
He urged party workers to engage women from every community and class with the party organization. The strength of society and the organization will only be realized when women’s representation and participation are guaranteed. Today’s youth will question the status quo, as they have not experienced the challenges faced by previous generations. By providing factual answers to their inquiries, we can facilitate their understanding of the country’s development journey.
The BJP women’s wing officials and workers presented handmade rakhis to Khandelwal, which will be sent to soldiers stationed at the borders as a gesture of respect and gratitude. Along with the rakhis, letters will be sent to honor the martyrs and express heartfelt appreciation for the brave soldiers.
