Mumbai, June 20: On the occasion of Shiv Sena’s 60th foundation day, party leader Manisha Kayande emphasized the return to the core principles of Hindutva under Eknath Shinde‘s leadership. She contrasted Shinde’s approach with that of Uddhav Thackeray, who she claimed has distanced himself from Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideologies by aligning with the Congress party.
In an interview with a news agency, Kayande stated that the Hindutva movement initiated by Balasaheb Thackeray continues to thrive under Shinde’s guidance. “Today marks the 60th anniversary of Shiv Sena. It is a moment of great joy as the movement started by Balasaheb Thackeray has reached this significant milestone. Sixty years is a long time in the life of any political party,” she remarked.
Kayande praised Balasaheb Thackeray’s unwavering support for Hindutva, noting that Eknath Shinde, along with other leaders like Dharmveer Anand Dighe, continues to follow in his footsteps.
Referring to a recent press conference by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, Kayande criticized the selective presentation of old videos of Balasaheb Thackeray. She questioned Raut’s accusations of betrayal, asking, “In 2019, when the public gave a majority to Shiv Sena and BJP, who was the real traitor?”
On the provision of Y-plus security to six rebel MPs from Shiv Sena (UBT), Kayande stated that the government cannot remain silent when Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut’s supporters openly threaten violence. “It is the responsibility of the government and police to maintain law and order,” she asserted.
She also took a jab at the Uddhav Thackeray faction, suggesting that they should introspect on why their leaders have left them. “While our program on the foundation day focuses on development, the guidance for this Hindutva meeting will come from Eknath Shinde,” she concluded.
