Indore, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : Indore’s political landscape has recently been stirred by comments made by Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya regarding BJP councillor Sandhya Yadav. The Congress party has raised objections to Vijayvargiya’s remarks, demanding an apology. In response, Yadav has come forward to defend him, asserting that their relationship is not political but rather akin to that of a father and daughter.
Yadav has linked the controversy to the Congress party’s tendency to politicize issues. She emphasized that a ground-breaking ceremony for a Narmada water tank and the installation of a Narmada pipeline in her ward had taken place, alongside the inauguration of Sanjeevan Clinic. These events were attended by Vijayvargiya, along with other representatives, including Indore MP Shankar Lalwani.
During the event, Yadav stated that Vijayvargiya’s comments should be interpreted in light of their longstanding familial bond. She shared personal anecdotes, recalling that when Vijayvargiya was a councillor, he had once cradled her as a child, reinforcing their father-daughter-like relationship. Yadav urged the public to avoid misinterpreting the situation and to refrain from making unnecessary comments.
She also pointed out that in the Malwa region, local language and terms of endearment are often used in conversations. She cited examples such as “mota bhai” and “chhota bhai,” explaining that such expressions are commonplace and should not be misconstrued.
In light of the ongoing controversy, Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed regret, stating that he views Sandhya Yadav as a daughter. This incident highlights the complexities of political relationships in the region.
