Udupi, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Swami Vishwesh Teerth’s successor, Shri Vishwaprasanna Teerth, at the Shri Pajeewar Adhokshaja Math in Udupi on September 22. During this visit, he unveiled the logo for the centenary celebrations of the Padma Vibhushan recipient.
Modi took to social media platform X to share details about the meeting, emphasizing that Swami Vishwesh Teerth’s life and teachings continue to inspire countless individuals. He described the saint’s life as filled with devotion, wisdom, and service. The Prime Minister noted that various initiatives beginning ahead of the centenary would help promote the saint’s noble ideals.

Modi stated that the initiatives planned for the centenary would further disseminate the values and principles associated with the saint’s life and work.
Swami Vishwesh Teerth (1931-2019) was a prominent Hindu spiritual leader and the former head of the Pajeewar Adhokshaja Math, one of the eight Madhva monasteries linked to the Udupi Krishna tradition. He was actively involved in public and social issues, including the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, and was known as a significant spiritual figure both in Karnataka and beyond.
He took sannyasa at the age of eight and dedicated over eight decades to spiritual and social service. He was renowned for his discourses on the Bhagavad Gita, Vedas, and Madhva philosophy, as well as for promoting Sanskrit education.
In 1956, he established the Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha in Bengaluru. He was also known for his humanitarian efforts, providing assistance to those affected by natural disasters and droughts. He worked to promote social inclusion and campaigned against caste-based divisions, reaching out to marginalized communities.
