Eid-ul-Azha Celebrated with Enthusiasm Across India

New Delhi, May 28: The sacred festival of Eid-ul-Azha, also known as Bakrid, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and brotherhood across the nation today. Members of the Muslim community gathered early in the morning at Eidgahs, mosques, and open fields to offer prayers. Authorities have implemented strict security measures to ensure a peaceful celebration, with police, paramilitary forces, drones, and CCTV monitoring the events.

In various districts of Uttar Pradesh, large crowds of worshippers have been observed. Hundreds gathered at the Baheri Eidgah in Ballia for the Bakrid prayers, with local police deploying sufficient forces to maintain order. In Moradabad, a significant number of people arrived at the Eidgah early in the morning.

In Noida, police are on high alert at the Sector-8 mosque. Maharajganj has also seen tight security around Eidgahs and major routes, allowing devotees to perform their prayers peacefully. A large turnout was reported at the Bilgram Chungi Eidgah in Hardoi.

Sensitive areas are under heavy police presence, with PAC, drones, and CCTV cameras ensuring safety. Authorities have urged citizens to maintain peace and warned against spreading rumors. Officials are closely monitoring the celebrations, and vigilance is also in place along the India-Nepal border.

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, extended Eid greetings to the Muslim community via the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Eid-ul-Azha Mubarak.”

In Nadia district’s Shantipur, West Bengal, a large number of devotees participated in the Eid-ul-Azha prayers, which were conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.

In Mumbai, many worshippers left their homes early this morning. Thousands gathered at the YMCA ground in Agripada to perform the Eid prayers collectively. A significant crowd was also present at the Mahim Dargah for the first Bakrid prayers. The Mumbai police have implemented stringent security arrangements throughout the city.

Waris Pathan, the national spokesperson of AIMIM, addressed reporters, saying, “Eid Mubarak to everyone in India and around the world. Eid is a day of sacrifice, love, and sharing. We will celebrate the festival joyfully while adhering to BMC guidelines, spreading the message of brotherhood across the country.”

He added that after prayers, people would perform their sacrifices and enjoy mutton and minced meat dishes.

This sacred festival is being celebrated peacefully and harmoniously across the country. People from various communities are exchanging greetings. Administrative officials have appealed to all citizens to avoid rumors and celebrate the festival joyfully.
