Patna, September 3: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has destroyed drugs valued at ₹4.54 crore in Patna, reaffirming its commitment to a drug-free India.
An official statement indicated that this significant action underscores the NCB’s determination to prevent the re-circulation of seized drugs and disrupt drug trafficking networks.
In its fight against drug cartels, the NCB has called for public support. Citizens can provide drug-related information through the Citizens’ Helpline (toll-free: 1933), with complete confidentiality assured for informants.
Earlier, on August 31, as part of its national outreach program, the NCB in Mumbai organized a seminar at the Cytech Center on the Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCC) for precursors and other chemicals.
During the seminar, participants were briefed on the objectives of the VCC. The session was chaired by the NCB’s Deputy Director General (SWR), who, along with the additional director of NCB Mumbai, addressed the gathering. Representatives from industry and trade associations also shared their views on the VCC.
According to a statement, on September 1, the NCB held a quarterly state-level joint coordination committee meeting in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, to strengthen inter-agency coordination against emerging drug threats.
This meeting, chaired by the DDG of NCB (Eastern Region), saw active participation from officials of the DRI, Customs, Income Tax, CGST, Indian Coast Guard, CISF, and ANTF.
The discussions focused on emerging tactics of traffickers, inter-agency coordination, financial investigations, intelligence sharing, and best practices for effective enforcement and network-centric investigations.
