New Delhi, June 7: The Department of Consumer Affairs’ E-Jagruti platform has been awarded the prestigious Silver Award in the National E-Governance Awards 2026. This recognition comes from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances for its innovative use of technology in digital transformation within the Government Process Reengineering category. The announcement was made by the government on Sunday.
According to the government, E-Jagruti has significantly changed the landscape of consumer justice. Through its integrated digital platform, over 200,000 cases have been resolved.
This award was achieved after a thorough evaluation process of 341 nominations from central ministries, departments, and state governments. It highlights the role of E-Jagruti in consumer grievance redressal through technology-driven, citizen-centric service delivery.
Launched in January 2025, the E-Jagruti platform consolidates four legacy systems—OCMS, E-Filing, NCDRC CMS, and Confonet—into a single AI-enabled, paperless platform.
Since its inception, the platform has registered over 229,000 consumer cases and assisted in resolving more than 207,000 cases, achieving a resolution rate of 90.75%. It empowers consumers to seek justice easily from anywhere in India or abroad.
The government reported that during the fiscal year 2025-26, consumer commissions maintained strong performance, registering 165,456 cases and resolving 152,707 of them. The resolution rate improved to 92.30%, up from 89.47% in the previous fiscal year.
In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025-26 (January-March 2026), consumer commissions continued to excel, resolving 34,600 out of 38,944 registered cases, resulting in a resolution rate of 88.84%, surpassing the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Consumers can now file complaints online from anywhere in India or abroad, track the progress of their cases in real-time, and participate in virtual hearings without needing to travel to consumer commissions.
This platform has enabled Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to obtain consumer justice without returning to India, with the number of registered NRI users increasing to 3,312. A total of 61 NRI cases have been resolved through this platform.
During the fiscal year 2025-26, states like Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh (Union Territory), Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Arunachal Pradesh achieved a resolution rate exceeding 100%, alongside the NCDRC.
