Double Decker Bus Carrying Pilgrims Overturns on Agra Highway, 10 Injured

A serious road accident occurred on the Agra highway in Jaswantnagar area of Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh. A double-decker bus carrying 45 pilgrims returning from the Char Dham and Barsana temples lost control and overturned. Around 10 passengers were injured and immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus was travelling towards Urai in Jalaun district after visiting Barsana in Mathura. When the vehicle reached near Malajani village on the Agra highway, dense fog had reduced visibility significantly. Due to poor visibility, the driver lost balance and the bus overturned with a loud noise. The accident caused panic and cries among the passengers.

Local villagers and passersby rushed to the scene as soon as the bus overturned. Without delay, they helped passengers exit through windows and doors. Some informed the police while others assisted in arranging ambulances. Traffic on the highway was briefly disrupted during the rescue.

Police and administration teams arrived quickly at the site. The injured were taken to the Jaswantnagar Community Health Centre by ambulance and private vehicles, where doctors began immediate treatment. Medical officials reported that eight pilgrims sustained minor injuries, while two are in slightly serious condition. All injured are out of danger.

District Magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla and Senior Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava visited the hospital upon hearing the news. They spoke with the injured and instructed doctors to provide the best possible care. The administration is providing all necessary support to the affected pilgrims.

SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava stated that the pilgrims were returning at night from Barsana when the dense fog near Malajani village reduced visibility drastically, causing the accident. The situation is now fully under control and treatment of the injured continues.
