Udaipur : Dr Ashok Sharma, who was in charge of Badgaon Satellite Hospital in Udaipur and gained attention for making reels during patient treatment, has been transferred with immediate effect. Joint Government Secretary of Medical Department Nisha Meena issued the orders on Thursday evening, posting him to Jaipur headquarters.
In his first video after the transfer order, Dr Sharma said, “I don’t know why and for what mistake I have been removed.” In a second video on Friday, he was seen treating patients at the same hospital, telling them, “Some patients’ treatment was pending, so I came. My order has come. Now I am leaving. I am here till Monday, get your treatment done.”
Dr Ashok Sharma regularly posts reels on his Instagram account related to patients visiting the hospital for treatment. He has 3.10 lakh followers on Instagram. Questions have been raised about making reels during duty hours, which is also considered a major reason for action against him.
CMHO Dr Ashok Aditya said that complaints against Dr Ashok Sharma regarding negligence in duty and not reaching the hospital on time had been received for a long time. Departmental inquiry orders have been issued against him. The inquiry report will be prepared and sent to the state government.
Two medical stores had been operating illegally in front of Badgaon Satellite Hospital for several years. CMHO Dr Ashok Aditya had raided these medical stores about two weeks ago. Medicines were being prescribed to patients without doctors, and they were being admitted for treatment. During inspection, the CMHO closed the illegal clinics operating in front of the hospital and issued notices demanding responses.
The CMHO stated that hospital in-charge Dr Sharma should have taken action against the illegal clinics operating in front of Badgaon Satellite Hospital, but he did not do so.
After being transferred, Dr Ashok Sharma used a microphone to ask people to get treatment quickly and also posted a video of this.
