Avignon, June 18: U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed strong support for opportunities available to Indian skilled professionals in the United States. During a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G7 summit in France, Trump described Indians as “very talented” and emphasized the long-standing positive employment relationship between the two nations.
When asked whether Indian skilled professionals would continue to find opportunities in the U.S. during his presidency, Trump responded affirmatively. He noted that the employment ties with India have always been robust.
Trump praised Indian professionals, stating they are exceptionally talented individuals. His remarks are particularly significant in India, which is among the leading countries sending a large number of skilled workers, engineers, technology experts, researchers, and students to the U.S.
He further asserted that the relationship between the U.S. and India is quite strong. “We had very good discussions with Prime Minister Modi and there are many things progressing between our countries,” he said.
Trump also commended Modi’s leadership and negotiation skills, calling him one of the best negotiators. He later made several positive comments about the bilateral relationship, stating that India can do whatever it wishes with the U.S. “We have the best relationship. I don’t think there could be a closer relationship between me and Prime Minister Modi or between our two countries,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that cooperation between the two nations has significantly increased since his last visit to the U.S. He mentioned the successful meeting in Washington last year, which has injected new momentum and energy into their relationship. Both countries are collaborating across various sectors.
Modi also noted that officials from both nations are continuously working together to achieve set goals, with teams maintaining ongoing communication and cooperation.
