
Evian, June 17: At the G7 summit held in Evian, France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two leaders discussed key issues related to India-Ukraine relations, trade, and peace.
In a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi stated, “I had a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Evian. Recently, cooperation between India and Ukraine has increased across various sectors. This is evident in different aspects of our partnership. In our discussions, we reviewed several issues of our collaboration. We both agree that trade relations should be restored to the level they were before the war.”
The Prime Minister emphasized, “I also reiterated that India will always stand for peace and prioritize the values of humanity above all else.”
President Zelensky also mentioned his meeting with Modi at the G7 summit, highlighting their discussions on strengthening India-Ukraine relations and exploring new areas of cooperation.
In a post on X, Zelensky remarked, “I met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There are significant possibilities for cooperation between our two countries, and we are already working on several joint projects. We discussed how to further strengthen these projects and enhance collaboration in various fields.”
Zelensky noted that the most important aspect is that the Prime Minister is interested in advancing mutually beneficial relations with Ukraine. He believes this partnership can strengthen both nations.
Zelensky added that together, they can work on several promising industrial and other projects. They agreed that teams from both countries would work on detailed information and plans regarding all these issues.
The Ukrainian President also stated that the G7 summit has garnered significant international support for Ukraine. Agreements were made on several crucial steps to increase pressure on Russia and bolster Ukraine’s defense.
