District Magistrate Leads Key Meeting on Transparent Gas Cylinder Supply

Noida, April 2: A significant meeting was held under the leadership of the District Magistrate at the NIC auditorium in Noida, aimed at streamlining and ensuring transparency in the supply of commercial gas cylinders. Officials from various departments, representatives from gas companies, and other stakeholders participated in this crucial discussion.

The primary goal of the meeting was to enhance the gas supply system and establish effective control over illegal activities, particularly black marketing. The District Magistrate issued clear directives to all officials, stating that any irregularities or discrepancies in the gas distribution system would not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against offenders.

During the meeting, the progress of piped natural gas (PNG) connections was also reviewed. Representatives from Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) reported that the lack of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) in certain areas was hindering the establishment of PNG connections.

In response, the District Magistrate instructed relevant authorities to take necessary actions to resolve these issues promptly, ensuring that the PNG connection process is expedited. Additionally, the police department was directed to provide necessary guidance to address challenges faced by agencies during execution, facilitating smooth operation of the gas supply system.

The District Magistrate also mandated that Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) in all tehsils be appointed as in-charges to ensure that there is no black marketing of gas and that the distribution process adheres to government standards. During the meeting, the in-charge District Supply Officer, Smriti Gautam, informed that joint teams led by Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Municipal Magistrates, along with officials from the weights and measures department, food and logistics department, and oil companies, are continuously conducting inspections and campaigns.

These initiatives are aimed at ensuring transparency in the supply of LPG and other petroleum products. She noted that consumers and institutions using commercial gas cylinders are receiving up to 70% of their gas supply based on their needs.

To avail this service, consumers must submit details of the cylinders used in the previous financial year and proof of application for PNG connections to the respective gas companies. This facility will only be available to those consumers and institutions that have applied for PNG connections.

For further information, consumers can contact the official website or the email addresses of the respective gas companies. All officials and representatives from gas companies expressed their commitment to work in coordination to ensure a transparent and effective gas supply system.
