Manoj Jha Expresses Sympathy for Americans Amid Iran Tensions

New Delhi, April 6: Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha expressed his sympathy for the American people in light of the new threats issued by the U.S. towards Iran. He questioned how such power could be entrusted to individuals, calling the situation alarming from a global perspective.

In an interview, Jha commented on the recent threats from Donald Trump regarding Iran, stating that if the threats were solely about reopening the Strait of Hormuz, the level of objection would not be as severe. He emphasized that the current global situation is indeed concerning and that Trump is not equipped to manage it. “I feel sympathy for the American people,” he added.

Regarding the special parliamentary session called for the Women’s Reservation Bill, Jha noted that there has been a 30-month delay. He questioned whether anyone would apologize for this lapse. He recalled that the new Parliament building was initiated with this very issue in mind. Jha mentioned that while his party believes changes will be made in the future, the critical question remains: why the 30-month delay?

On comments made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge about the people of Gujarat, Jha urged not to misinterpret his statements. He pointed out that whether it is the UDF or LDF government in Kerala, the state is significantly ahead by any standard. He recalled Prime Minister Modi’s comparison of Kerala to Somalia and questioned if there was similar outrage at that time.

Jha stressed that Kerala serves as a benchmark for other states in the country, expressing his hope that Bihar progresses at a similar rate.

Addressing allegations against Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife by Congress, Jha stated that if legal action is necessary, it should be pursued. However, he highlighted the disparity in standards, referencing the case of a politician’s son in Uttar Pradesh who faced scrutiny for merely holding two PAN cards. “Standards should be consistent,” he concluded.
