Ahmedabad, April 7: The political atmosphere has intensified following a controversial statement made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. During a public meeting in Kerala, Kharge allegedly made remarks about the people of Gujarat, sparking outrage among the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the state’s residents.
In response, BJP leader Rohan Gupta launched a sharp attack on Congress. He accused the party of practicing divisive politics. Gupta stated to a news agency that this is not the first time Congress leaders have insulted the people of Gujarat. He claimed that whenever elections approach in any state, Congress attempts to demean people from other states for political gain, yet they consistently fail.
Gupta noted that the people of Maharashtra have already responded to Congress, and now the people of Kerala will do the same. He criticized Congress for employing “divide and rule” tactics, reminiscent of British colonial strategies, asserting that the party is following the same path. He further remarked that while Congress talks about a “shop of love,” their actions spread hatred, and the public is no longer falling for their tricks.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to clarify the situation regarding commercial LPG supply in the country. According to the Indian Oil Corporation, despite current global conditions, the supply of commercial LPG remains about 70% normal. The company assured that supply will be maintained, prioritizing critical sectors such as hospitals, pharmaceuticals, and education.
Gupta stated that this is proof of the Narendra Modi government’s commitment to minimizing the impact of global crises on the public, as the government and public sector companies work together. He accused the opposition of spreading unnecessary fear regarding the situation, emphasizing that the country is moving forward normally.
Additionally, Gupta praised the government for proposing to extend the parliamentary session by one day regarding the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill. He stated that this reflects the government’s seriousness and commitment.
He highlighted that issues that had remained unresolved for decades have been advanced and implemented by the Modi government. Referring to decisions like the abrogation of Article 370, control over terrorism, and action against Naxalism, he described the Women’s Reservation Bill as a significant and historic step. According to him, this will be a celebration for the women of the country, and the special parliamentary session will prove to be a strong initiative in this direction.
