Lucknow, May 28: BJP MP Dinesh Sharma expressed personal satisfaction regarding the discussion on demographic changes, which he raised in the Rajya Sabha. This serious issue has now become a focal point of discussion.
In an interview with a news agency, Sharma thanked the Home Minister for addressing this matter despite a busy schedule. He stated that the decision made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah is historic and should not be politicized, as it will benefit the nation.
It is noteworthy that Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the formation of a high-level committee, chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar, to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of demographic changes occurring across India due to illegal migration and other unnatural causes.
While sharply criticizing the Karnataka Congress government, Dinesh Sharma remarked, “There has been a government of looting there. The corruption linked to Siddaramaiah that remained incomplete will be completed by D. Shivakumar.”
Responding to a viral video of alleged chanting inside the Taj Mahal, Sharma advised people to avoid rumors spreading on social media. He emphasized, “I believe that the Indian government has maintained and managed its protected monuments well. Some individuals misuse social media to spread false rumors.”
On the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of the voter list, Sharma targeted opposition leaders, stating, “After the Supreme Court’s ruling, opposition leaders should stop making such statements. They should learn from this and cease the false propaganda against the Election Commission and the SIR process. The truth has emerged following the court’s decision.”
He reiterated that the Supreme Court has once again clarified that the Election Commission is a constitutional body, and its powers are safeguarded under the Constitution.
Dinesh Sharma urged the opposition to respect the court’s decision and collaborate in strengthening the democratic process of the country. He expressed confidence in the autonomy and impartiality of the Election Commission.
