Jaipur, June 18: Political tensions are rising in Rajasthan over the issues of paper leaks and the education system. Following a program led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in Kota, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari targeted him, questioning the Congress government’s record on these matters.
During a media interaction in Jaipur, Diya Kumari stated that Rahul Gandhi’s actions as the opposition leader are expected. However, she raised a critical question: Why did he remain silent during the numerous paper leak incidents when Congress was in power in Rajasthan?
Diya Kumari remarked, “The number of paper leaks during the Congress government was unprecedented. I want to ask Rahul Gandhi what he had to say back then. He was completely silent. For five years, paper leaks continued, yet he said nothing. The biggest question is why this happened during your government?”
She emphasized that the current government has implemented better measures to ensure transparency and security in examinations. She assured that future exams will be conducted more effectively to prevent such issues from recurring.
On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi engaged with students at the ‘Students’ Voice’ event held at Kota’s Dussehra Maidan. He clarified that the event was not political but aimed at discussing students’ concerns, challenges, and their future.
During the program, he referenced a suicide note allegedly written by a student named Aakansha, stating that it reflects not just a personal failure but a failure of the nation’s education system. He accused the current educational framework of gradually becoming a means of economic exploitation.
Gandhi highlighted competitive exams like NEET and JEE, noting that while millions of students participate, only a few are selected. He expressed, “Parents spend millions on their children’s education and coaching, but our education system has become more about rejection than selection. This humiliates students and drives many young people towards depression.”
