New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory in anticipation of the upcoming BRICS Summit, scheduled for September 11-13. Authorities are urging the public and cab service providers to adhere to the guidelines to avoid disruptions during this significant event.
Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), stated that extensive arrangements are in place to manage traffic effectively. “We are conducting rehearsals to ensure smooth movement for distinguished guests during the summit,” he explained.
The advisory is being disseminated through various channels, including the Delhi Police website, social media platforms, and print media, to keep the public informed and minimize inconvenience.
Gupta noted that 22 diversion points have been established, allowing for rerouting of traffic as necessary. Officers have been instructed to provide information about these changes to commuters.
On September 11, all schools and government offices will be closed, which is expected to facilitate easier traffic management for the police. Senior police officials are coordinating with navigation maps and cab services to integrate the advisory into their systems, ensuring that travelers remain informed and experience minimal delays. Gupta emphasized the importance of checking the official advisory for details on affected routes.
Additionally, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised candidates retaking the UGC NET exam in Delhi on September 9 and 10 to plan their travel in advance. The agency highlighted potential travel restrictions that could lead to delays in reaching examination centers.
Candidates are encouraged to review their routes, leave early, and account for possible traffic disruptions to ensure timely arrival at their designated locations.
