Demands for Action on Vande Mataram Disrespect and Ram Temple Donation Theft: Mahant Raju Das

Chandauli, August 18: Amid ongoing political controversy surrounding the disrespect of Vande Mataram and the theft of donations intended for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Mahant Raju Das of Hanumangarhi has called for action against those responsible. He criticized the Congress leadership and urged political parties and leaders to refrain from politicizing matters of faith. He emphasized that any disrespect or irregularities related to religious and national sentiments should not be overlooked.

Regarding the Ram Temple donation theft case, Mahant Raju Das expressed hope that, just as the Supreme Court has taken notice of related issues, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has adopted a strict stance on alleged irregularities in Ayodhya. He stated that action should be taken against those found guilty. The Chief Minister has previously made it clear that any irregularities related to temple donations or other matters will not be tolerated. Raju Das insisted that all evidence in such cases should be presented, and the guilty must not escape justice.

Mahant Raju Das urged political leaders to avoid exploiting faith-related matters for political gain. He stated that those who have contributed to a temple or religious site due to their faith should not face any irregularities that undermine their trust. He criticized certain politicians for changing their political stance according to time and circumstances, suggesting they should respect faith rather than politicize issues related to the Ram Temple, Sanatan culture, and Hindu society.

He supported the decision to implement a dress code for priests in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, calling it a positive initiative. He stated that visitors to religious and pilgrimage sites should conduct themselves in accordance with the customs and traditions of those places. He highlighted the significance of attire and identity in Sanatan tradition, using his own life as an example. He noted that just as journalists are recognized by their microphones and equipment, a dress code at religious sites can clarify individuals’ roles and maintain the sanctity of these places.

When asked about comments made by Sadhvi Ritambhara regarding Vande Mataram and allegations against Sonia Gandhi, Mahant Raju Das referenced a statement from a Congress MP. He recounted hearing the MP claim they had never said Vande Mataram and never would. He deemed such statements unfortunate and questioned why Vande Mataram should be politicized, asserting it symbolizes respect for the nation and the land.

Mahant Raju Das also expressed sharp criticism of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Sonia Gandhi, questioning her alleged reaction during the singing of Vande Mataram. He described her response as objectionable, suggesting it was unusual during the invocation of Indian culture and deities. He emphasized the need for respect towards symbols associated with the nation and culture, urging that political differences should not interfere in such matters.

He has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to take action against the Congress leadership. He stated that if there has been disrespect towards any national symbol or sentiments, it must be investigated. He referenced the Supreme Court’s process of taking suo motu cognizance in other cases, questioning why it has not done so regarding the Vande Mataram controversy. He intends to approach the court and file an FIR against the relevant individuals.
