New Delhi, July 1: The Central District Police have successfully dismantled an alleged prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa in the Paharganj area of Delhi. During a decoy operation on Wednesday, police arrested the spa’s owner and manager while rescuing four women.
According to police reports, the operation commenced on June 30 after receiving specific intelligence at the Paharganj police station. Authorities learned that the ‘Sin Spa’ located on the second floor of property number 15 on Panchkuian Road was reportedly involved in sex work. Clients were allegedly lured to the spa, where sexual services were offered in exchange for money.
Acting on this information, a specialized team was formed under the supervision of senior officials. The operation involved briefing a decoy customer, who was given ₹2,000 in pre-marked notes. Upon entering the spa, the operator allegedly offered the decoy customer sexual services, accepted an advance payment, and instructed one of the women present to accompany the customer to a room.
After receiving a predetermined signal from the decoy customer, the raiding team entered the premises and conducted a search. The accused was apprehended on-site, and police recovered cash, documents, and other items indicating illegal activities were taking place.
Following the raid, an FIR was registered at the Paharganj police station on July 1. The arrested individual has been identified as Ajay Malhotra, 39, a resident of Multani Dhanda in the Nabi Karim area of Delhi. Police stated that he was the owner and manager of ‘Sin Spa’ and was allegedly facilitating prostitution under the cover of spa services.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to running the spa and arranging sexual services for clients in exchange for money. Authorities are also investigating whether any other individuals were involved in this alleged trafficking network.
The operation led to the rescue of four women, including a 40-year-old from Allahabad, a 26-year-old from Dadar Bazaar in Delhi, another 26-year-old from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, and a 31-year-old from Nabi Karim in Delhi.
Police seized ₹3,400 in cash, which included the ₹2,000 in pre-recorded ‘decoy money.’ Additionally, objectionable items, including a customer entry register, were confiscated. The Central District Police stated that further investigations are ongoing to identify others connected to this alleged prostitution racket.
