
New Delhi, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : New Delhi’s district police have scored a significant victory in their ongoing efforts to apprehend fugitives. A team from the Connaught Place police station successfully arrested an individual wanted in connection with 18 criminal cases following a series of searches and surveillance operations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma (IPS) confirmed that the accused was declared a fugitive by the court on November 21, 2025. This ruling stemmed from FIR number 6780/2024, registered at the Laxmi Nagar police station. The suspect had been evading capture for a considerable time, linked to theft and robbery offenses.
To locate the fugitive, the police team conducted thorough investigations, utilized field intelligence, and executed extensive surveillance. They raided several potential hideouts across the Delhi-NCR region. After persistent efforts and coordination, the team succeeded in apprehending the suspect on September 26, 2026.
The arrested individual has been identified as Nitin, also known as Totla. He is 25 years old and resides in Nabi Karim, Delhi. Investigations revealed that he is involved in 18 criminal cases registered at various police stations in Delhi, encompassing provisions under the IPC/BNS and other applicable laws. The police stations with pending cases against him include Paharganj, DBG Road, Prasad Nagar, Mandir Marg, Gulabi Bagh, Nabi Karim, Rajinder Nagar, Ranjit Nagar, Sadar Bazar, and Motinagar, with most cases related to theft and robbery.
This operation was executed by the Connaught Place police team, which included Head Constable Rampal Samota, Head Constable Nauraang, and Head Constable Hari Singh, under the supervision of senior officials and the SHO of Connaught Place.
Authorities have stated that their campaign against fugitives will continue in the coming days.
