Pune, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant development in the high-profile Ketan Agrawal murder case, Pune police have disclosed new details regarding the alleged conspiracy behind his death. According to the police, the murder, which occurred at Lohagad Fort, was planned using information related to a tragic incident involving a young woman who died there in 2025.
The police report, submitted to the Vadgaon Maval court, claims that Agrawal’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, researched online details related to the 21-year-old Mansi Govindpurkar’s death. The duo purportedly plotted to push Agrawal off the fort, intending to disguise his death as an accident.
Ketan Agrawal, aged 26, died on June 18. Initially, his death was considered an accident due to a fall, but subsequent investigations led police to assert that he had been pushed. The charge sheet, which spans 5,053 pages, names Goyal, Chaudhary, and Ritesh Hange as accused. It includes mobile data, call detail records, social media content, messages, photographs, witness statements, and technical analysis documents.
The charge sheet indicates that Goyal did not wish to marry Agrawal, despite their engagement on February 19. Following this, she allegedly conspired with Chaudhary and Hange to murder Agrawal and make it appear as an accident.
Investigators revealed that Goyal and Chaudhary searched for information on deaths, tracking accidents, and methods to destroy evidence on platforms like Google, YouTube, and social media. Their online queries reportedly included terms such as “Lohagad Fort,” “easy ways to kill someone,” “Sonam case,” “how to delete a Google account,” and “tracking incidents.” They also sought information on the honeymoon murder case involving Meghalaya’s Raja Raghuvanshi.
Linking Mansi Govindpurkar’s death to the conspiracy, the charge sheet states that Goyal learned about her demise through Facebook. Mansi went missing on March 18, 2025, and her body was discovered two days later at the base of Lohagad.
According to police, after learning about Mansi’s death, Goyal and Chaudhary discussed the fort and allegedly decided that Agrawal could be pushed, making his death appear accidental. The investigating agency claims the suspects also gathered information about incidents of falls from heights and trekking accidents in the Lohagad and Lonavala areas. The digital evidence seized has been included in the charge sheet, which also alleges that the accused initially attempted to hire a contract killer before deciding to carry out the murder themselves.
