Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Joins Drug-Free Punjab Campaign in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The ‘Drug-Free Punjab Campaign,’ initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), marked its second day on Saturday in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the event as the chief guest. She offered prayers at the Gurudwara and stressed the importance of protecting the youth of Punjab from drug abuse, stating that the entire nation supports this initiative.

In her address to the media, Gupta highlighted the significance of the location, which is linked to the martyrdom of the small Sahibzadas. She expressed a collective need for strength in the fight against the drug crisis that has gripped Punjab. “We all must unite in this battle,” she said. “We need to ensure the safety of Punjab and its youth. The entire country stands with Punjab. Delhi is with Punjab, and I stand with Punjab.” Gupta urged the public to spread the resolve against drugs to every village and household, encouraging widespread participation in the campaign.

Prior to the campaign event, Gupta met with families affected by drug addiction. She listened to their struggles and expressed solidarity with their pain. She reassured them of the necessity to strengthen the fight against the drug issue in Punjab.

BJP Punjab President Kaul Singh Dhillon also called on the community to transform this initiative into a mass movement, emphasizing that participation from all societal sectors is crucial for a drug-free Punjab.

On social media, Gupta shared her experience, stating, “Engaging with workers and locals on the sacred land of Fatehgarh Sahib, let’s unite to spread this resolve against drugs to every household in Punjab for a secure, healthy, and bright future for our youth.”
