Patna, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Prashant Kishor, a prominent figure in Bihar’s political landscape and a member of the Jan Suraj party, announced on Saturday that the official list of candidates supported by Jan Suraj for the upcoming Legislative Council elections will be revealed during a press conference on Sunday. In response to questions regarding Mokama MLA Anant Singh’s endorsement of Anuj Singh, Kishor stated that Anant Singh’s actions are not a concern for Jan Suraj. He emphasized that the focus should be on which candidates the relevant parties choose to nominate.
Kishor remarked, “We will officially announce the candidates supported by Jan Suraj for the MLC elections at 11 AM on Sunday. It is their matter; we have no comments to make. Political parties can speak for themselves. We are not interested in their internal affairs.”
He confirmed that Anuj Singh is a member of Jan Suraj and has previously run as a party candidate. Kishor reiterated, “What Anant Singh does is not our concern. What matters to us is who the party nominates.” Jan Suraj has already declared its intention to contest eight seats in the Bihar Legislative Council. Recently, the party lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding alleged discrepancies in the voter list.
In light of the ongoing flood situation in Bihar, Kishor responded positively to the announcement made by BJP National President Nitin Nabin, who pledged to contribute 6.35 lakh rupees from his three-month salary to the Chief Minister‘s Relief Fund. Kishor expressed happiness over this gesture but urged that the BJP should also utilize its party funds to assist flood victims. Nabin’s announcement came on September 18.
Kishor also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to express sympathy and offer support to the people affected by the floods in Bihar. He pointed out that BJP leaders had previously promised to permanently resolve the flood issues in the state and should now clearly advocate for the flood victims. His statements come at a time when various political parties and leaders are announcing financial aid for flood relief efforts.
