Raipur, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Kedar Gupta, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), recently expressed his views on several political developments, including the U.S. imposing a 100% tariff on Indian goods. Speaking from Raipur, he emphasized that the U.S. is anxious about India’s rapid growth and development, aiming to exert pressure on the nation. Gupta recalled a previous instance when a 50% tariff was introduced, asserting that India continued to thrive, boasting one of the highest GDP growth rates globally. “No matter how many tariffs the U.S. imposes, India will push forward. We are a nation of youth, and we understand our potential,” he stated.
Gupta also commented on BJP National President Nitin Naveen’s generous donation of ₹6.35 lakh to the Bihar Chief Minister‘s Relief Fund for flood victims. He highlighted that the BJP’s core principle is to ensure that resources reach the most marginalized members of society. “This donation is a testament to our commitment, and the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ further illustrates our dedication to service,” he noted.
Regarding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s petition to the Supreme Court over her party’s election symbol, Gupta acknowledged her right to pursue legal action but suggested that her party is gradually fading. “This is a consequence of her past actions,” he remarked.
On Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments accusing the BJP of eliminating other political parties, Gupta responded, “The future is determined by actions. Congress is disintegrating on its own. Even during Indira Gandhi’s time, the party faced fragmentation. Rahul Gandhi should reflect on his own party’s history.”
Gupta’s remarks underscore the BJP’s confidence amid challenges and its commitment to addressing social issues.
