New Delhi, May 27: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a significant review meeting via video conference with senior officials and department heads on Wednesday. The meeting focused on the work-from-home arrangement and reviewed the progress of budget announcements, development projects, and public welfare schemes initiated by the Delhi government.
CM Rekha Gupta issued strict directives to ensure timely completion of these schemes. She emphasized that any negligence regarding public welfare projects would not be tolerated.
During the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Service House, Gupta instructed all departments to expedite the implementation of budget-announced schemes effectively. She stated that the government’s priority is not just to make announcements but to ensure that every scheme reaches its final outcome.
Gupta warned officials that departments failing to utilize budget funds appropriately for their schemes may face cuts in their allocations in the upcoming budget. The meeting also included a special discussion on preparations for the monsoon. The Chief Minister directed relevant departments to complete the cleaning and dredging of all drains in the capital before the rains begin. She stressed that preventing waterlogging is among the government’s top priorities, and any negligence in this regard would not be accepted.
On environmental protection and pollution control, she urged large-scale tree planting campaigns in areas suffering from dust issues or vacant land. She emphasized the need for better coordination among various agencies to make the capital clean and green.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the infrastructure related to education. She instructed the relevant departments to ensure timely whitewashing, repair of toilets, and provision of clean drinking water in government schools. She reiterated that providing a better and respectful environment for students is the government’s responsibility.
Given the current circumstances, the Chief Minister appealed to officials and employees to seriously adhere to the Metro Monday and work-from-home arrangements. She noted that this would help save fuel, reduce traffic congestion, and aid in pollution control. Additionally, she directed the swift advancement of solar power and water conservation initiatives. Gupta called for coordinated efforts from all departments to make Delhi a model city in energy conservation and water management.
Furthermore, she instructed officials to utilize social media not just for formal announcements but as an effective medium for promoting public welfare schemes and disseminating accurate information to the public. All departments were directed to regularly share updates on their plans and achievements. The Chief Minister emphasized that each department should conduct regular reviews of their schemes and keep progress reports updated. She also instructed timely uploads of pending and significant project information on the PM Progress Portal to ensure effective monitoring of development activities.
The meeting reviewed biometric attendance, grievance redressal, tree planting campaigns, employee onboarding on the I-GOT platform, and the progress of various development projects. The Chief Minister urged all departments to work in coordination and ensure results within the stipulated timelines.
