New Delhi, August 11: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta delivered a statement regarding the CAG report in the house.
Gupta noted that the CAG Report No. 1 primarily includes comments, audit findings, and conclusive remarks related to various departments of the Delhi government for the year 2022-23.
The report highlights revenue losses in stamp duty and registration fees, unnecessary expenditures by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB), subsidy policies in the electricity sector, payments related to GTB Hospital, irregularities found in the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, shortcomings in the e-procurement system, issues related to the Public Works Department, construction of a new block at LNJP Hospital, and matters concerning the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Delhi Jal Board.
Additionally, the state finance audit report, Report No. 2 for the year 2026, was also discussed in the house. This report is now being sent to the relevant departments to obtain action taken reports as soon as possible. It is being forwarded to the respective departments for action taken reports, and further actions on these comments will be undertaken by the Public Accounts Committee.
Recently, under Gupta’s chairmanship, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held, where it was unanimously decided that two reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) and one notification related to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) would be presented in the house during the monsoon session.
Speaker Vijender Gupta mentioned that the Chief Minister and Finance Minister Rekha Gupta will present the “CAG Report No. 01 for the period ending March 31, 2023, related to the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi” and “CAG Report No. 02 for State Finance related to the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi for the year 2024-25.”
