New Delhi, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has initiated consultations with architects, planners, and other professionals to facilitate the effective implementation of the Delhi Master Plan 2047 (MPD 2047). This initiative aims to foster a comprehensive understanding among stakeholders, as stated by an official on Friday.
Under the direction of Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu, the DDA held the sixth and seventh rounds of stakeholder consultations. Participants were given the opportunity to share their insights, suggestions, and feedback on various aspects of planned development in the capital.
An official statement highlighted that these consultations gathered suggestions regarding parking infrastructure, traffic management, and various redevelopment projects. This effort is part of a broader three-month stakeholder engagement program designed to involve diverse groups, enhance understanding of the provisions of MPD 2047, and incorporate stakeholder perspectives for its effective and participatory implementation.
The DDA plans to hold around 20 consultation meetings, engaging various thematic areas and stakeholder groups related to planning and development in Delhi. The sixth meeting included representatives from the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), the Council of Architecture, the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), the Institute of Town Planners India (ITPI), the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), and the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB).
The seventh meeting continued with participation from architects and planners. During these discussions, the DDA presented an overview of MPD 2047 and its vision for creating a sustainable, green, and livable national capital. Stakeholders were informed about various spatial development policies under the master plan, including Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), land pooling areas, high-density corridors (HDC), and low-density areas (LDA).
