CPCB Recruitment 2026: 51 Positions Including Scientist Open for Applications Starting August 24

New Delhi, August 21: A significant opportunity has emerged for job seekers. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of eligible candidates for various positions under the “Strengthening Environmental Regulators Project (SER) – Phase III,” which focuses on the Ganga River. A total of 51 positions are available on a contractual basis.

The vacancies announced by CPCB include 1 Scientist-D, 8 Scientist-C, 12 Scientist-B, 3 Assistant Manager (Finance), 1 Administrative Assistant, 13 Scientific Assistants, 1 Taxonomist, 4 Data Entry Operators, and 8 Field Assistants.

The online application process will commence at 10 AM on August 24 and will close on September 7. Interested and eligible candidates can complete their registration on the CPCB official website once the application link is activated.

Applicants must possess a first-class Master’s degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science from a recognized institution or university, a first-class Master’s degree in Commerce (Finance and Accounting/Taxation), Chartered Accountant, MBA (Finance and Accounting), a first-class Bachelor’s degree, or a first-class MSc. Additionally, candidates should have completed their 10+2 with at least 55% marks in Science.

The maximum age limit for applicants is set between 27 to 50 years, depending on the position, calculated as of the application deadline. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on application scrutiny, interviews/written tests, and document verification. The monthly salary for selected candidates will range from ₹38,741 to ₹1,71,597, along with additional benefits and allowances. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted in New Delhi.

Selected candidates will be appointed at regional directorates (Lucknow, Kolkata, Chandigarh) or at the CPCB headquarters in New Delhi. Initially, these appointments will be on a one-year contract basis, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
