New Delhi, July 15: The ongoing controversy surrounding the Ram Temple Trust and donations has sparked sharp remarks from the saint community and Hindu petitioners. In Ayodhya, Hindu petitioner Dharm Das and saint Deveshacharya raised concerns about the functioning of the Trust’s officials, demanding accountability. Meanwhile, in Haridwar, Mahamandaleshwar Rupendra Prakash of the Bada Udasin Akhara criticized opposition parties for their comments, emphasizing that the temple is a matter of faith for millions.
Dharm Das supported the statement made by Trust treasurer Govind Dev Giri, asserting that his remarks were accurate. He highlighted serious negligence in the matter, holding certain officials responsible. Questions should be raised about the roles of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. He accused them of betraying the faith of devotees in the name of Lord Ram. He stated that these individuals have a history of involvement in similar activities and that Champat Rai remained silent while donations were misappropriated.
He expressed that these individuals have betrayed Lord Ram, and they will face consequences from Lord Ram, the judiciary, and society. There is significant public outrage against them. Lawyers and devotees are upset, and wherever these individuals appear, they will be met with disdain.
Saint Deveshacharya also leveled serious accusations against the Trust officials. He stated that due to the negligence of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, a major controversy related to the faith of devotees has emerged. The Trust’s treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, is responsible for overseeing the temple’s funds and donations. If the treasurer claims to hold only a nominal position without signing authority, he should resign immediately. A saint should not cling to a position. He criticized any saint who compromises their values for the sake of retaining a title, calling it unfortunate.
In Haridwar, Mahamandaleshwar Rupendra Prakash responded strongly to comments made by opposition leaders regarding the Ram Temple. He stated that those questioning the temple and donations have never even visited the Ram Temple. These are the same individuals who previously doubted Lord Ram’s existence, labeling him as fictional. Now, they are raising questions about the Ram Temple.
Rupendra Prakash emphasized that the Ram Temple is a symbol of faith for millions of Hindus and should not be politicized. Some individuals are opposing the temple to prevent the BJP from receiving credit for its construction. He asserted that there is no connection between the Ram Temple and politics, yet some are attempting to drag it into controversy for political reasons. He concluded by stating that those who have never participated in the Ram Temple movement and have not visited the temple after its construction should not question it or related issues.
