Patna, June 13: The controversy surrounding the re-nomination of Sunil Singh as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) shows no signs of abating. Following discontent within the party, posters labeling Singh as ‘Natwarlal’ appeared along the streets of Patna on Saturday. The identity of those responsible for the posters remains unclear.
The posters feature images of Sunil Singh, along with those of his son and wife. In a sarcastic tone, the poster reads, “Congratulations on becoming Bihar’s ‘Natwarlal’ MLC.”
It further states, “FIR Number 305, amount embezzled from a woman of the Yadav community: 16.5 lakh, King of Fraud.” Below this, images of his son Yashasvi and wife are included, referencing alleged charges of embezzlement and fraud against them as well. At the bottom, the poster concludes with, “Congratulations and best wishes to Sunil Singh, the chief of fraud and looting, on becoming MLC from the Grand Alliance.”
However, it is unclear which organization, individual, or political party is behind the posters. Discontent within the RJD surfaced after the announcement of Sunil Kumar Singh as the candidate for the MLC elections. Tej Pratap Yadav, son of party president Lalu Yadav, and his sister Rohini Acharya have both raised questions about this decision. Following this, former minister Shivchandra Ram resigned from party positions, although the party has not accepted his resignation.
