Punjab Government Addresses Controversial Video Allegations

Mumbai, June 18: Political tensions have escalated in Punjab following the emergence of a controversial video allegedly involving Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. On Thursday, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Baltej Pannu held a press conference to present the government’s stance and disclose the findings of an investigation.

During the press briefing, Finance Minister Cheema accused certain “anti-religious forces” of deliberately attempting to disrupt the atmosphere in Punjab and incite religious sentiments. He asserted that an organized conspiracy has been devised to tarnish Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s image. The investigation included technical and forensic analysis, revealing significant facts.

Cheema explained that the government commissioned an examination of the viral video from two independent labs located outside Punjab. The analysis scrutinized a total of 1,191 frames. According to the report, the individual depicted in the video is not Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann but rather someone resembling him. He claimed that modern technology and editing tools were employed to mislead the public.

Citing the forensic report, the Finance Minister highlighted clear differences in facial structure, height, and physical attributes between the person in the video and Chief Minister Mann. The report also indicated that the estimated height of the individual in the video is approximately 5 feet 10 inches, while Chief Minister Mann stands at 5 feet 8 inches. Additionally, significant discrepancies were noted in side and back profiles, shoulder structure, and body posture.

The government has labeled the entire incident as a political conspiracy, stating that all individuals involved are being identified and will be brought to justice, regardless of whether they are within the country or abroad. Minister Cheema also remarked that such conspiracies against Punjab have occurred in the past, and the government will not allow them to succeed.

He urged the public to refrain from paying attention to rumors and to trust only the official reports, indicating that further technical investigations and legal actions may follow regarding this matter.
