Controversy Erupts in Jodhpur as Poll Worker Touches Ashok Gehlots Feet During Voting

Jodhpur, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : During the second phase of local elections in Rajasthan, a significant controversy arose when a poll worker touched the feet of former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at a voting booth in Jodhpur. This incident occurred on Friday while Gehlot was casting his vote at the Vardhman Jain School in Ward Number 82.

Following the event, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed strong objections. Saurabh Saraswat, the state convenor of the BJP’s legal cell, lodged a complaint with the District Election Officer and the State Election Commission, demanding action against the involved poll staff.

The BJP argued that election officials and staff are expected to maintain political neutrality during their duties. They contended that the behavior towards a prominent political figure could raise doubts about the fairness and integrity of the electoral process, potentially undermining voter confidence.
