Bhopal, June 14: Urban Administration and Development Commissioner, Sandeep Bhondwe, has issued a stern warning to contractors on the Red List. If they fail to show progress on projects within 15 days, their performance guarantees will be reduced, and they will face blacklisting. Additionally, all contractors involved in Red List projects will incur a penalty.
During a review meeting on the progress and implementation of water supply projects under the Atal Mission 2.0, Commissioner Bhondwe directed contractors and officials to enhance their efforts.
He highlighted that the timely payments made to contractors have ensured the full utilization of the funds allocated by the Government of India for the financial year 2025-26 by March 2026. This effective financial and administrative management has propelled Madhya Pradesh to the seventh position nationally under the Atal Mission scheme.
The meeting also involved a detailed review of 122 projects currently lagging in progress, focusing on quality of work, timely implementation, and pending issues. Commissioner Bhondwe instructed all relevant officials to continuously monitor these underperforming projects to ensure they are completed within the stipulated time frame.
The meeting was attended by the divisional joint director, divisional executive engineer, and other officials, with representatives from various urban bodies joining via video conferencing.
