Chinyalisaur, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : In Chinyalisaur, Congress workers staged a vigorous protest on September 28, calling for an investigation into alleged irregularities and vote theft during the electoral process. The demonstration was led by the District Congress Committee of Uttarkashi.
During the protest, participants burned effigies of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chanting slogans against the central government and the Election Commission.
Pradeep Singh Rawat, the district president of the Congress Committee, expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of satisfactory responses to questions raised by party leader Rahul Gandhi regarding vote theft and irregularities. He emphasized that the foundation of democracy relies on fair elections, warning that any manipulation of voter rights poses a serious challenge to democratic values.
Rawat called for an independent and impartial investigation into the Election Commission’s operations, demanding a high-level inquiry into the allegations surrounding elections conducted during Gyanesh Kumar’s tenure. He asserted that if any irregularities are proven, legal action should be taken against the individuals involved.
The struggle to protect democracy and voter rights, according to Rawat, will continue. He warned that if a fair investigation is not conducted, the movement will expand from Uttarkashi to Dehradun and Delhi through democratic means.
During the demonstration, Congress workers raised slogans advocating for the protection of democracy and ensuring transparency in the electoral process. Subsequently, a Congress delegation submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar of Chinyalisaur, urging necessary actions to maintain the credibility of the electoral process and ensure a fair investigation into the matter.
The event saw participation from various party leaders, including state vice president Darshan Lal, OBC Morcha president Rajendra Gusain, block president Devjan Banthwan, and other prominent Congress members.
