Dehradun, July 18: Congress MP Kumari Selja has asserted that the party will establish the next government in Uttarakhand during the upcoming assembly elections in 2027.
In a conversation in Dehradun, Selja stated that the party is fully prepared. From grassroots workers to all our leaders, including those from Uttarakhand, everyone is actively engaging with the community and addressing local issues. A significant number of people are joining us. Our grassroots efforts will strengthen, and the public sentiment clearly indicates that the next government will be led by Congress, marking the end of the BJP’s rule here.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Voice’ program, Selja noted that the BJP seems to tremble at the mention of his name. With Gandhi’s increasing presence and events being organized, the BJP is resorting to various tactics, such as holding parallel events, changing venues, and even relocating programs after receiving permission.
She emphasized that Rahul Gandhi’s event was successful and that he will continue to highlight the people’s issues.
Selja added that the program was specifically aimed at youth, who actively participated. Some Congress workers expressed their disappointment at not being present, but she clarified that the focus was on youth concerns. Gandhi discussed their education, future, and how they are being deprived of opportunities, impacting their prospects.
Looking ahead, Selja announced that there will be an event featuring Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and our National President, at the beginning of August. Details of this event will be shared soon.
