PM Modi Congratulates Skyroot Aerospace on Vikram-1s Successful Launch, Highlights Self-Reliant Indias Potential

New Delhi, July 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team at Skyroot Aerospace on Saturday for the successful launch of the Vikram-1 rocket. He shared a video on his official Instagram account, where he praised the entire Skyroot team for this historic achievement.

During the congratulatory call, PM Modi remarked, “Skyroot has initiated a new era in the space sector. The company has not only opened new opportunities in the sky but has also laid a strong foundation on Earth that will inspire the youth of the country to advance in science and technology.”

He commended the young team at Skyroot, stating, “I was pleased to see that most of the team members are between 25 and 30 years old. Initially, there was concern on their faces about the mission, but that atmosphere transformed into joy and excitement after the success.”

The Prime Minister described the Vikram-1 mission as a moment of pride for the nation, saying, “This is not just a space mission; it symbolizes India’s potential and the energy of the new generation.” He expressed that he views this mission as a ‘Vande Mataram Mission,’ aimed at elevating the dignity of Mother India and connecting youth with technology.

He added, “There was a time when some mocked the idea of ‘self-reliant India,’ but today, Indian companies like Skyroot have proven their capabilities. This success is evidence that India is rapidly advancing towards self-reliance, even in cutting-edge fields like space.”

PM Modi encouraged the Skyroot team to continue their efforts, assuring them that the government and the nation stand with them. Such achievements instill new hope and confidence among India’s youth.

Present during the call were Pawan Chandana, co-founder of Skyroot Aerospace, and his team. Chandana expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to speak with the Prime Minister, noting that the card sent by Modi successfully reached space. He mentioned that the card bore the words ‘Vande Mataram,’ thus linking the mission’s orbit to this sentiment.

Chandana stated that the entire team and the nation feel proud of initiating the country’s private space program. He highlighted that Skyroot has become the first Indian private company to achieve the historic feat of placing a rocket into orbit on its first attempt, attributing this success to entirely Indian design and talent.
