New Delhi, June 1: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has targeted Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding the NEET paper leak incident. He stated that due to the minister’s incompetence, the Prime Minister now has to personally oversee the NEET examination.
Digvijay Singh insisted that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign immediately. He also urged Prime Minister Modi to dismiss the education minister without delay.
Meanwhile, amidst the NEET controversy, a parliamentary committee meeting of the Ministry of Education took place on Monday.
Speaking about the meeting, Digvijay Singh remarked that while he cannot disclose the discussions within the parliamentary committee, the situation has escalated to a point where the Prime Minister is compelled to take charge of the NEET responsibilities due to the education minister’s failures.
Regarding the demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, Digvijay Singh stated that it should be accepted. He warned that immediate action should be taken against him, or else Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove him from his position.
The Congress leader questioned the functioning of the Ministry of Education, stating that the situation has deteriorated to the extent that the Prime Minister has to instruct the Defence Minister not to delay sending documents, which reflects the complete incompetence of the education minister and his ministry.
On the issue of the CBSE portal hacking, Digvijay Singh mentioned that Congress has summoned CBSE officials for discussions. Additionally, both students involved in the matter have also been called in.
He noted that no action has been taken by CBSE against the individual who hacked the portal and shared information. Furthermore, another student who wrote about the tender process has also been summoned.
It is worth mentioning that Congress raised questions on Monday regarding CBSE’s intention to penalize the contractor responsible for alleged negligence in the on-screen marking (OSM) system process.
