New Delhi, June 1: The Congress party has once again called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in light of the ongoing CBSE evaluation controversy. On Monday, Congress raised concerns over the board’s intention to penalize the contractor responsible for alleged negligence in the on-screen marking (OSM) system.
Congress MP Jairam Ramesh reiterated the demand for Pradhan’s resignation, stating on the social media platform X that neither the Prime Minister nor his associates seem accountable to any standards of ethics or integrity. He emphasized that the Education Minister should resign to fulfill his ‘raj dharm’ (duty to the state).
Following the board’s announcement to address complaints regarding discrepancies and other issues in the re-evaluation process, Ramesh pointed out that after denying cybersecurity flaws in the OSM system, CBSE has finally acknowledged the existence of issues. He questioned what actions would be taken against the contractor, COEMPT.
Ramesh shared a news clip related to CBSE’s plan to impose fines on the contractor, suggesting that it appears both CBSE and the Education Ministry were aware that COEMPT would not prove competent for the task.
He noted that in its RFP from August 2025, CBSE reserved the right to blacklist vendors who failed to complete the work effectively. However, in September, CBSE issued a clean slate, retracting its authority to blacklist vendors.
Ramesh concluded that this seems to be an inexplicable, government-supported effort to protect COEMPT, which had already begun before officially receiving the contract.
