Congress Launches Satyagraha in Haldwani Demanding Withdrawal of Case Against Rahul Gandhi

Mumbai, September 3: In Haldwani, party activists have initiated a Satyagraha movement in protest against the oppression of Dalits and the case filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The protest, taking place at Buddha Park, includes participation from Dr. Sunil Pawar, the National President of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Congress. Congress workers are expressing their dissent through traditional Gandhi-inspired methods, including spinning the charkha.
Activists voiced their anger against the BJP government and police administration, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the case against Rahul Gandhi. Congress leaders argued that filing cases against those who raise their voices democratically is inappropriate. They also called for strict action regarding the alleged purification incident at Ramleela Maidan, demanding that those responsible be prosecuted. During the Satyagraha, Congress workers prominently raised their demands while chanting slogans against both the central and state governments.
Dr. Sunil Pawar, speaking to reporters, stated, “When we think positively about someone and they commit wrongdoing, we sit in Satyagraha for democracy and the Constitution. The incident in Haldwani has been witnessed by the entire nation. After Kharge’s rally, BJP and RSS members conducted a purification ceremony. It is most unfortunate that CM Dhami supports this. They want to replace the Constitution with Manusmriti, which is entirely wrong.”
Protester Neeraj Tiwari remarked, “Kharge’s event was grand and divine. In their frustration, the BJP and so-called individuals conducted a purification ceremony at the location where Kharge was present. We oppose this incident. This voice has also been raised by Rahul Gandhi and aware citizens who respect the Constitution. Conversely, an FIR has been filed against Rahul Gandhi, which is completely unjust, and we are protesting in a Gandhian manner.”
Coordinator Radha Arya added, “Sunil Pawar, the National President of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj organization, is with us. The organization is demonstrating and spinning the charkha to convey that we should continue on the path of truth and non-violence as taught. However, the administration is not prepared.”
