Karnataka Government Forced to Withdraw Park Bill Due to BJP Opposition, Claims BY Vijayendra

Raichur, September 3: Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President and MLA BY Vijayendra alleged on Thursday that the state government was compelled to withdraw the park bill due to pressure from the BJP’s opposition.

During the ongoing ‘Bellary Chalo’ padyatra near Sindhnur in Raichur district, Vijayendra criticized the government’s decision to retract the law. He remarked, “I do not know who advised the state government to introduce this bill. The state government is intimidated by the BJP’s movement and has changed its stance by deciding to withdraw the bill.”

Vijayendra pointed out that the BJP had already drawn the state government’s attention to the issues faced by farmers, urging immediate action for relief, especially as drought-like conditions prevail across the state.

The state BJP president welcomed the government’s decision to call a special session of the Assembly but insisted that farmers’ issues should take precedence during this session. He stated, “The BJP will raise several critical issues related to farmers, including the demand for agricultural loan waivers.”

He added, “We raised farmers’ demands this morning. We welcome the government’s decision to convene a special session. However, at a time when the state is facing drought, the government must step up to assist farmers immediately and address their primary concerns, such as agricultural loan waivers.”

Referring to the ongoing tour of Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in North Karnataka, Vijayendra emphasized that this tour should not be limited to political events. He urged the state government to use this opportunity to understand the difficulties faced by drought-affected farmers and take concrete steps to provide relief.

Vijayendra further stated that the state government should demonstrate sensitivity towards farmers’ issues. “It should not play with the lives of farmers and must implement immediate relief measures,” he concluded.
