New Delhi, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : Senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari has voiced strong objections to the United Nations’ new map, which he claims undermines India’s sovereignty by misrepresenting Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh. Tiwari emphasized that every inch of these territories belongs to India, stating, “There can be no compromise on this issue.” He criticized the government’s silence, calling it shameful, especially as the Prime Minister is preoccupied with other matters.
In an interview, Tiwari remarked, “This map released by the UN is incorrect and goes against India’s territorial integrity. Our Prime Minister is so weakened that he remains silent on this critical diplomatic issue.” He urged the government to lodge a formal protest against the map.
Tiwari also addressed the brutal murder of a music teacher in Manipur, questioning the effectiveness of the Quick Response Team during the incident. “Where was their team when he was pleading for help and running for safety?” he asked, highlighting the insecurity faced by ordinary citizens.
Expressing sorrow over the teacher’s death, Tiwari stated, “Shouldn’t we mourn the loss of someone who brought glory to India in the music world? Celebrating such tragedies indicates a weakness. We view this murder as a complete failure of law and order by the central government, which has turned Delhi into a ‘Crime Capital.'”
Regarding a recent building collapse in Satya Niketan, Tiwari raised concerns about alleged extortion from other building owners to prevent identification or demolition of their properties. He insisted that politics should not overshadow these fatalities, labeling the incident not as an accident but as murder. He called for a comprehensive and long-term policy to be implemented under the supervision of the Supreme Court or High Court to prevent future tragedies.
