
New Delhi, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi government is poised to launch its Pink Sahili Smart Card scheme shortly, with approximately 1.9 million cards already issued. Transport and Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh announced that the initiative has received enthusiastic support from women in the city, and the transport department has made necessary preparations for its implementation.
In a recent conversation, Dr. Singh indicated that the official notification for the scheme will be released soon. He expects that the program will commence the day after the notification is issued. Under this scheme, women in Delhi will be able to travel for free on DTC and cluster buses, provided they possess the Pink Sahili Smart Card.
Dr. Singh emphasized that the issuance of nearly 1.9 million cards reflects strong participation from women. He assured that the transport department is diligently working to ensure the scheme’s rollout, allowing women to start using the Pink Sahili Card very soon.
Additionally, the minister urged residents to participate in the ongoing ‘No PUC, No Fuel’ campaign. He highlighted the importance of obtaining a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate for vehicles, stating that petrol or diesel will not be dispensed without it.
To enforce this initiative, the transport department will take special measures to ensure that no vehicle without a valid PUC certificate receives fuel. Dr. Singh appealed to residents to comply with the regulations and obtain their PUC certificates promptly.
In a related development, Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh visited the Delhi State Health Mission (DSHM) office to review various health programs. During his visit, he assessed the operations and implementation of the initiatives under the mission.
He engaged with doctors, technicians, program officials, and other staff to evaluate their work. Dr. Singh instructed relevant authorities and program heads to ensure effective implementation of all health programs, ensuring timely access to public health services for citizens. He stressed the need for high-quality health services and effective execution of the initiatives.
