
Raipur, June 2: Kuldeep Sharma, the Collector of Balodabazar in Chhattisgarh, held a deadline meeting on Tuesday to review the management of plans, construction work, and departmental activities. He emphasized ensuring the distribution of quality fertilizers and seeds to farmers through all committees for the upcoming Kharif season.
During the meeting, the Collector noted that with the formation of 39 new committees, there are now a total of 168 cooperative societies operating in the district. All societies are equipped with POS machines to facilitate the distribution of fertilizers, seeds, and loans to farmers. He instructed that intensive inspections by flying squads and revenue officials should continue to ensure quality and transparency in the availability of fertilizers and seeds at the committees and agricultural centers. Any irregularities found at any center should lead to action against the responsible parties.
He also suggested using drones for spraying nano-urea and pesticides, to be managed through women’s groups and selected cooperative societies. Additionally, he directed officials from the seed corporation and the agriculture department to register farmers and activate necessary machinery for seed production in the district.
In reviewing the upcoming academic session for 2026-27, which begins on June 15, the Collector stressed that any incomplete construction work in schools must be finished before they reopen. Basic facilities such as drinking water, electricity, and toilets should be operational in all schools. Teacher attendance should be recorded in the attendance app once the schools open, and SDMs are to conduct surprise inspections. He also instructed preparations for the school enrollment festival.
To improve results in the upcoming board exams, he called for strategic planning to start immediately. He directed reviews of principals and teachers from schools with results below 50 percent. Model question papers should be prepared, and monthly tests conducted in all schools. Remedial classes should be arranged for underperforming students, and progress reports from schools should be collected monthly.
The meeting also reviewed pending revenue cases, applications for good governance festivals, the Swamitva scheme, the PM Suryagarh free electricity scheme, PM housing, Chief Minister‘s public interaction, CP Grams, and other initiatives. Present at the meeting were CEO of the District Panchayat, Ms. Divya Agarwal, Additional Collector Abhishek Gupta, Nisha Netam Madavi, along with SDMs and various district officials.
