Jaipur, November 5 (Daily Kiran): The winter chill has begun to settle across Rajasthan as cold winds from the north push temperatures down across the state. Following the retreat of a recent western disturbance, the weather has now turned dry, marking the clear arrival of the winter season.

On November 4, several districts witnessed cloudy skies along with light rain and hail in isolated areas. Strong winds and scattered rainfall were reported in Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Kota, Karauli, Baran, and Ajmer, while some parts of Hanumangarh experienced stormy showers accompanied by small hailstones.
According to the Meteorological Department, Sirohi emerged as the coldest district in the state on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of 23.5°C. Other cities also recorded noticeable drops — Jaipur’s maximum temperature fell by 4.8 degrees to 28°C, while Kota reported 28.7°C, Alwar 29.8°C, Ajmer 28°C, Dungarpur 26.2°C, and Karauli 26.5°C.
Weather experts said that the effect of the western disturbance over North India is now ending, paving the way for icy winds from the north. These winds are expected to lower temperatures by 2–3 degrees Celsius, especially across Shekhawati, Jaipur, Bikaner, and Bharatpur divisions, where nighttime temperatures are likely to dip sharply.
With the change in weather, people across Rajasthan have started feeling the winter chill. In many areas, fans are being switched off, and residents are beginning to rely on warm clothing for early morning walks or while heading to work.
