Madhya Pradesh, August 19: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh targeted the Congress party while transferring the 39th installment to the accounts of the Ladli Sisters. He accused Congress of consistently undermining women’s rights.
During a state-level event in Maihar, CM Yadav transferred an additional ₹250 as a Raksha Bandhan gift, alongside ₹1,750 to the Ladli Sisters’ accounts with a single click. He criticized Congress, stating that whenever there is a discussion about increasing the funds for the Ladli Sisters, the party raises objections, claiming that increased funds would lead to alcohol consumption. He urged the sisters to hold Congress accountable during the elections, asserting that the Ladli Sisters would not tolerate disrespect.
The state government has extended this initiative for another five years, emphasizing its commitment to women’s empowerment. Efforts are being made to enhance the income of the Ladli Sisters through self-help groups, and women involved in related industries will receive ₹5,000 per month from the state government.
Yadav further asserted that the BJP is a party that fulfills its promises. The government is delivering on its commitment to provide additional funds during the month of Sawan, which is seen as a gift for the sisters. He also placed the blame on Congress for the lack of 33% reservation for women in Parliament and the Assembly.
Additionally, he called on the audience to stay away from substance abuse, emphasizing the need to protect the younger generation from such influences. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, efforts have been made to eradicate Naxalism, and now the focus is on eliminating drug abuse. The state has closed liquor shops at 19 sacred sites, including Maihar.
