Beijing, July 29: The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has released a document titled “China’s Position on the Alleged Excess Production Capacity Issue.” This document aims to clarify concerns raised by certain countries and economic communities regarding their competitive power and market presence. It accuses these entities of politicizing economic and trade issues to exploit the so-called Chinese excess production capacity problem.
The document asserts that there is no necessary correlation between practical allowances and excess production capacity. It emphasizes that major countries should take a leading role in rule-based allowances. Increased exports do not equate to surplus production capacity. The growth in Chinese exports stems from its economic scale, enhanced creative capacity, and the demands for green transformation and industrialization from various countries. The claim that China has excess production capacity due to a lack of domestic demand is deemed unfounded. China is not only a major manufacturing nation but also a significant consumer market. It serves as both the world’s factory and its marketplace.
Furthermore, the document clarifies through facts and figures that the rapid development of modern Chinese enterprises relies on innovation. The stable and healthy growth of these businesses depends on continuous improvement. The advancement of Chinese modern enterprises represents not a “Chinese Shock 2.0” but rather a “Chinese Opportunity 2.0.”
The document calls for all parties to adhere to mutual benefits and shared victories, promoting equitable and rational international economic systems and creating open and inclusive global production and supply chains.
