
Balodabazar, February 15: A shocking murder case has emerged from the Dadhakhar village in the Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh. A 55-year-old man, Itwari Ram Pakra, was brutally killed due to a longstanding rivalry and issues related to not voting during the Panchayat elections.
The accused, Naresh Pakra, struck the victim on the head multiple times with a wooden stick. During the incident, he also threatened witnesses, which delayed the case from coming to light for an extended period.
The incident dates back to April 7, 2025, when Itwari Ram Pakra was admitted to the district hospital in Balodabazar with severe head injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on April 8, 2025. Initially, the case appeared to involve minor injuries, but the post-mortem report revealed that the death was caused by severe blows from a solid object. Consequently, a murder case was registered at the Kasdol police station.
During the investigation, police meticulously examined the crime scene and interviewed the victim’s family and villagers. Initially, witnesses were hesitant to speak out due to fear. It later emerged that the accused had threatened them after the incident.
The police discovered that there was a longstanding feud between Naresh Pakra and Itwari Ram Pakra. The dispute escalated during the Panchayat elections over voting issues, leading to the fatal attack with the wooden stick.
Based on all evidence and witness statements, police arrested Naresh Pakra. During questioning, he confessed to the crime, stating that he acted out of anger and rivalry while intimidating witnesses.
Authorities have stated that they will present a strong case in court to ensure the perpetrator receives a harsh punishment. Villagers expressed that if the dispute had been resolved promptly, this tragic incident could have been avoided.
