Census Will Reveal Beneficiaries of Government Schemes: Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti

New Delhi, March 28: Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, the newly appointed chairperson of the National Backward Classes Commission, stated that the recent census notification will clearly indicate which communities have benefited from government schemes and which remain marginalized.

Regarding the criteria for inclusion or exclusion from the central OBC list, she mentioned that she is continuously gathering information on this matter. She assured that if any improvements are necessary, she will address the issue with the Prime Minister. Her aim is to ensure justice for all communities.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti expressed her gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting her with this significant responsibility. She admitted that she did not expect her political and social journey to lead her to this position.

She clarified that her priority will be to resolve all pending and critical issues related to the commission. She provided a significant statement regarding the commission’s operations and priorities, indicating that this process will help enhance social justice.

On Wednesday, she officially took charge as the chairperson of the National OBC Commission. During this time, she met with the commission’s officials and staff to discuss future action plans. She also shared photos of the occasion on the social media platform ‘X’, reaffirming her commitment to societal upliftment.

In her message, she emphasized that the commission is dedicated to ensuring justice, security, respect, and equal opportunities for backward classes. She stated that the commission will work diligently towards this goal.

Notably, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has previously served as a minister of state in various ministries within the central government. Born in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, she hails from the Nishad Mallah community and has also served as an MP from Fatehpur.

It is important to mention that Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has been a minister in the Narendra Modi government’s first two terms, having been appointed as the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in 2014.
