Body Discovered on Footpath in Chitli Kabir Market Sparks Investigation

New Delhi, May 27: A shocking discovery was made late Tuesday night in the Chitli Kabir Market area, where the body of an unidentified man was found on the footpath.

According to police reports, Head Constables Dinesh and Arvind were patrolling the area on their motorcycle around 2:30 AM when they noticed a person lying on the footpath in front of shop number 1348.

Upon inspection, the officers found the man deceased. He is estimated to be around 40 years old. Initial investigations revealed no visible external injuries on his body. The deceased was dressed in ordinary clothing and sandals.

News of the incident quickly attracted a crowd of locals. Police attempted to identify the man by speaking with nearby residents, but his identity remains unknown. Authorities have since appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased.

A crime team was summoned to the scene to conduct a thorough examination, capturing photographs and videos of the area. Police officials stated that every aspect of the case is being investigated to determine the cause of death.

After completing necessary legal procedures, the body was sent to the mortuary at Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital for an autopsy. The police have initiated an inquiry under Section 194 of the Indian National Security Act (BNSAS) to ascertain the identity and cause of death. Currently, they are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras and interviewing local residents. Officials indicated that the exact cause of death will be revealed only after the autopsy report is received.
