Blaze Engulfs Electronic Goods Container on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway

Mumbai, June 24: A massive fire erupted late Tuesday night in a container filled with electronic goods on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway in the Vasai area of Maharashtra. The flames spread rapidly, transforming the container into a fireball.

The incident occurred in the Sativali Phata region of Vasai. Reports indicate that the container was en route to Mumbai when it suddenly caught fire. The container was loaded with a significant amount of electronic merchandise, contributing to the fire’s intensity. Preliminary estimates suggest that the incident could result in losses amounting to crores of rupees.

According to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation’s fire department, PSI Prabhakar Patil reported the incident around 11:31 PM on Tuesday. The container, bearing registration number MH04KU4945, was engulfed in flames.

Upon receiving the alert, the fire department team sprang into action. Firefighters arrived on the scene and initiated firefighting efforts using hose reels and lines. However, due to the fire’s severity, additional support was requested from the main fire station in Achole, which dispatched vehicle number MH48AY8101 along with a team. Together, both teams worked tirelessly for several hours before successfully bringing the fire under control.

After extinguishing the flames, the fire brigade also completed the cooling process. Key personnel involved in the rescue operation included drivers Nilesh Patil, Deepak Bhoi, and firefighters Rakesh Sawant, Akshay Patil, and Niket Patil. Another fire team, led by driver Bhavesh Patil, included firefighters Swapnil Patil and Vishal Sawant, who also played active roles in combating the blaze. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties from this devastating fire incident.
